Tracey Lee Roberts, MA; E-RYT200, has been studying yoga for over 15 years, and received her 200 yoga training certificate from Alignment Yoga (Scott Anderson) in Madison, WI.  She teaches a gentle yoga that allows the body and mind to explore a pose or movement through mindful breathing. Slowing down allows the body to move from a flight response to a sensation of safe opening and freedom. Through her classical yoga training and teaching she has come to see that compassion for oneself and others is at the root of non-violence. Yoga practice often leads to a greater sense of self-acceptance and self-love which radiates outward to those around us.

Tracey also studies Compassionate Communication, a communications method based on the work of Marshall B. Rosenberg, PhD (Nonviolent Communication). She has over 150 hours of advanced training. She is passionate about making sure participants come away from her classes and workshops with practical tools that will enrich lives.

     People's Yoga

Jeff Wright, ME; E-RYT500, has practiced yoga for over 45 years and taught yoga for over 32 years. He received his mantra initiation from Swami Veda Bharati in 1972, and has studied with yoga masters in the Himalayan tradition in Minneapolis, with Iyengar teachers in Iowa City and Minneapolis, and completed a 500 hour certification training with Scott Anderson (Alignment Yoga) of Blue Mounds, WI in 2013. Jeff is the author of numerous articles published in Yoga Journal, Yoga International, and YogaIowa as well as several books on yoga, including his recently published, Way of Stillness. (See www.wayofstillness.com)  Jeff has a BA in Philosophy and an MA in Education.  He has special interests in meditation practices and yoga therapy.

Jeff offers both weekly hatha classes and group sessions of secular meditation practice (Stillness Groups) in Platteville and surrounding communities.  He is on the yoga teacher training staff at Body & Soul Wellness Center and Spa and is also a volunteer with the Wisconsin Prison Mindfulness Initiative.
